I had the opportunity to work at Inkerman Panels in St Kilda for a week to learn the in’s and out’s of the automotive repair and claim process. The team at Inkerman panels are a very close group and have been well established for more than 60 years and pride themselves on the quality and speed of their repairs.
I was given the oppotunity to work on a number of different vehicles and see vehicles throughout the entire claims process from the initial claim, right through the disasembaly, repair, painting and reassembly process.
The team at Inkerman panels allowed me to work on a vehicle from start to finish. The vehicle I worked on was a Nissan Tida with some minor front end damage and headlight damage. I was instructed to remove the front bumper and any assosicated hardware and to remove the headlight. Once disassembled, we took the headlight over to the polisher and removed the scuff on the headlight lense and brought it back to a brand new looking condition. The bumper was too damaged to be repaired and a new bumper was ordered and arrived in a bare plastic without any paint. The bumper was sent off for paint and a repair was done on the fender. The panels were put into paint and I was able to reassemble and have it ready to deliver to the customer

I gained quite a bit of knowledge from the team at Inkerman Panels and I hope I was able to pass over my knowledge of Audatex to them. To the team at Inkermans, Andy Holzer, Peter Wheeler, Peter Rankine, DJ, Kylie, I want to formally thank you for allowing me to spend a week in your shop.
All the best for your business!!
